Underwriting Technician - Broker Support

We are currently working with an ambitious wholesale broker based near Liverpool Street, in the City of London, who are currently seeking to recruit a Broker Support Technician/Underwriting Technician to join their 6 strong Commercial SME Team.

With aspirations to operate as an MGA, this firm’s success is wholly dependent upon the effective management of both insurers and brokers. Ensuring excellent engagement with, and performance for, insurers is of paramount importance to ensure the continued sustainability of the insurer panel offered to brokers. Equally, the quality of servicing provided to the brokers (users) is a key driver in the successful delivery of the business.

Your role will be to provide efficient, timely and professional support to partner brokers for renewals, mid-term adjustments and general queries. You will also be required to take ownership of and handle new business and contribute to the development and building of relationships with brokers by providing “good customer service”

To be considered for this role you will need to have 1-3 years commercial insurance experience, gained in a broker, MGA or Insurer and ideally already have or be studying for your professional qualifications (with progress to or already possessing the Cert. CII as a minimum, and progression towards DIP CII being desirable). Previous experience in the Commercial SME/Package insurance sector is essential.

You will also need to possess a friendly professional demeanour with the ability to excel in a team-oriented environment. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite especially Excel is also desired.

A starting salary of £25-30k is available to start.
