Commercial Insurance Sales Manager - Broking

We are currently working exclusively with an ambitious independent commercial broker, who are now undertaking the process of expanding their operation. As such they now seek an Insurance Sales Manager to head up their Commercial broking operation in their office in Oadby, near Leicester.


You will be tasked with managing the existing sales and marketing teams, and be responsible driving the team forward through sales mentoring, performance management and a hands-on approach, with the remit of growing this office quickly, as this broker has plans to triple the headcount in the next 18 months!


As a Sales Manager you will be crucial to the success of this expanding business. Reporting into the board of Directors, you will be responsible for looking after the day-to-day management of a team of 4 Sales Executive/Account Handlers. The directors will give you all the necessary tools to accomplish the goals set out (which will include a lead filled database for the sales team, and various marketing campaigns). This team specialise predominantly in Commercial package SME and small commercial combined products, with typical clients being shops, restaurants, bars, clubs and takeaways.


You must be a highly capable and organised individual who is ambitious and looking for a genuinely exciting career opportunity. Driven and efficient, you will inspire trust in those around you, and be prepared to roll your sleeves up and take a hands-on approach in working towards the common goals of this broker to achieve their short term and long-term company growth plans. Above all though, you'll relish the challenge of being part of a truly ambitious team!


To be considered for this role you must have a strong grounding in Commercial Insurance (5 years plus commercial broking experience). Ideally you will also have experience of developing, leading and motivating a sales team, although this area of the role can be taught to you, so first and foremost they are looking for someone with proven success in meeting and exceeding targets in a commercial insurance sales environment, with the ability to inspire and mentor others.


In return, you can expect a basic salary of £25-30k dependant on experience, plus bonuses which will be targeted on GWP growth and team performance, with the potential long-term opportunity to gain equity in the business going forward to reward you for your success.
