New Business Construction Underwriter
We are currently working on an exclusive basis with a well-respected Underwriting Agency, who due to continued growth now seek a New Business focused Underwriter to join their Construction underwriting team.
They are looking to speak with experienced Construction underwriting specialists, who can bring on board a strong network of existing broker relationships across this insurance space as well as possessing the ability to develop new relationships too.
You will be responsible for focusing on the development of new Broker relationships, as well as managing any existing relationships you have already got in place. You will be personally responsible for proactively underwriting this new business and driving the growth of your Broker accounts with a view to developing the relationship and increasing the amount of business underwritten from these brokers for a wide range of construction risks, with Contractors All Risks and Liability products at the forefront of what they right and other risks such as but not limited to:- High Risk Contractors Liability, Scaffolding and Roofing, Ground working and Civil Engineering Liability, Excess Liability, Professional Indemnity – Design Construct, Haulage Contractors and General Contractors Liability.
You will be able to display a solid track record in a similar role, with relationship development and technical underwriting as the 2 key aspects of the role. You should have a good technical knowledge of construction-based risks and the ability to drive forward broker relationships. The ideal person will also currently be in a similar role already working for an MGA.
You will also need to be based a commutable distance from their office near Southend-on-Sea.
In return, the salary on offer is £48 -70k, plus bonuses (on commissioned income brought in), depending on skills/experience.
