Assistant Household Underwriter

We are currently working with an ambitious MGA who have shown some impressive growth over the last few years and who are on an incredible business journey. They are keen to speak to those with Household insurance experience who would like to join them on this journey as Assistant Household underwriters, based in their Basildon Underwriting centre, which currently has 40 staff.

Their Basildon underwriting centre handles new, existing and renewal household business via multi product and multi distribution channels including e-trade, sub coverholder and open market brokers. They are looking for underwriters who understand the need to trade with their brokers and provide a first-class service at all times.

Your role will be to underwriter the full range of the companies household insurance products from all distributions, making sure you achieve both new business and renewals GWP income targets.

To be considered for this role you will need to have at least 1 year plus Household insurance experience, gained in a Broker, MGA or Insurer and ideally already have or be studying for your Cert CII (although this is not essential)

You will also need to possess a friendly professional demeanour with the ability to excel in a trading underwriting environment.

Benefits include Life insurance 3x salary, 25 days holiday plus bank hols, Discretionary annual performance bonus, Pension – they contribute 5% on the basis you contribute 2.5% and Private medical care (after 12 months service)

Salary on offer is £20-25k depending on experience.
