Part Time Accounts Assistant

A well-respected owner managed Lloyds Broker in the City are now recruiting into their offices based near Fenchurch Street station, for a Part Time Accounts Assistant/Finance Assistant

Although expansion has led to this role being created this is still a small department who have a brilliant team ethic and who are excited to be growing.

What you will be required to do:

  • Premium Matching & Allocation.
  • Credit control & requesting breakdowns for un-reconciled receipts and allocating to entries once received.
  • Assisting with budgets, forecasts and financial analysis.
  • Creating and managing cost centres for the business.
  • Filing of all relevant documentation such as bank statements, remittance advices & correspondence. 
  • Communicating needed with clients and underwriters in a professional manner by email/telephone/in person.
  • Assisting other team members and directors during busy periods.
  • Liaising with suppliers.
  • General office duties such as answering the telephone, scanning & filing of financial records.

What you need to have:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to arrange and run meetings with department heads (i.e. Marketing, Broking etc) for budget allocations.
  • Minimum 5-years experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent working knowledge on Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. 
  • Must be intermediate to advanced in using MS Excel (Formulas, VLookups, Pivot Tables, Macros, VBA etc)
  • Ability to manage time, prioritise and ensure that deadlines are met
  • Accountancy/Bookkeeping qualification desired.
  • Familiar and working knowledge of SAGE, although full training on SAGE and internal softwares will also be provided.

You will be rewarded with a starting basic salary of £25-30k (pro rata), dependant on experience, plus bonuses and other company benefits such as Private Healthcare and Private Dental care plans.
