Broker Development Manager

We are currently recruiting for a leading UK wholesale underwriting agency who have undergone some really impressive growth and change over the last couple of years. They deal with an extensive range of general insurance products that encompasses both wheels and non-wheels-based insurances for commercial and personal lines customers.

 

As part of its ambition of growth for 2021 and beyond and developing its presence throughout the UK, pushing forward with plans for further market penetration, it now seeks to appoint a Broker Development Manager to join its field-based team.

 

In this home-based role, you will take responsibility for managing a wide ranging portfolio of brokers in the London and the South of England, and as such they are keen to speak to candidates in South London, Kent, Surrey and West Sussex.

 

You will be tasked with driving business and increased product penetration across your region and panel of brokers.

 

With many of the existing agencies potentially only trading in a small number of products, this is a superb opportunity for an accomplished BDM to quickly add value and income. This fantastic business has lots in its armoury, including the ability to trade directly online, via the broker’s preferred market technology, or in person with the dedicated contact centre, thus making sure there are no barriers to progress at all.

 

Interestingly too, there are no expectations to bring on new agencies or broker trading partners in this role as everything is already in place for you to pick up and run with. The current client bank is made up of a wide range of firms, from one-man bands through to the local branches of the major national insurance broking groups.

 

To be considered you will need to demonstrate proven success in a similar broker facing role. You’ll have an excellent knowledge of the regional geography and will be familiar with the insurance broking landscape encapsulated within this area. Ideally, you will also be well-networked and essentially, you’ll have the ability to influence up to board level!

 

In return, you will benefit from a generous basic salary of up to £50K, plus a £525 a month car allowance, and annual bonus potential of circa£8K, plus a comprehensive benefits package. This is a highly important role for them, but they are keen to get someone in place as soon as possible!
