Commercial Development Underwriter

We are currently working closely with a well-known and long-standing Broker/MGA in Gloucestershire who due to organic growth are now seeking to appoint a Commercial Development Underwriter to the Commercial Lines Team. They write and broke a wide range of commercial business

 

In summary, they have a delegated authority scheme specifically for the insurance requirements of Recruitment and Employment Agencies, Umbrella and Payroll companies. This incorporates everything from Employers Liability, Public/Products Liability, Professional Indemnity, Drivers Negligence Insurance, Office material damage and business interruption, Legal Expenses to name a few.

 

They are also looking for someone to upsell products such as comprehensive Management Liability and Cyber Liability via third party insurers.

 

You will be responsible for developing client relationships at a senior level with supporting syndicates and agents as well as managing the performance of the companies binders, to ensure profitability for both parties.

 

To be considered you will need Minimum 5 years commercial insurance experience with a sales background and be able to self-generate / convert appropriate leads. You will also need delegated authority underwriting experience as well as the ability to also broke off-scheme where required, whether for an entire risk or upsell such as management liability, cyber liability and motor fleet.

Minimum Cert CII preferred, but this is not essential if you have the right background.

 

In return, the salary on offer is circa £35k basic (can be negotiable for the right person), plus bonuses, and a benefits package which includes 25 days holiday (bank holidays on top). A pension scheme where our client pay in 8% (staff minimum 3% on top) and Group Life Assurance / Death in Service at 4x annual salary.
