Senior Commercial Broker/Underwriter

A well-established insurance group who handle both personal and commercial insurance products, now have an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial insurance professional to join them, to be the technical lead/senior in a new office. The role sits within their Underwriting Department, based at their stunning new Liverpool office near the Docks, and they recently taken on 3 new staff, and now need a more senior person to join them to help manage this new office and team.

As well as being a mentor and technical point of the office, you will also deal with clients, providing quotations for New Business for a range of commercial insurance, and to assist the Branch and be a referral point for the Assistants. The role requires dealing with clients over the phone and via e-mail to ensure retention and sales targets are maximised, through the provision of efficient communication & negotiation skills.

We are keen to hear from you if you are analytical, pay great attention to detail, self-motivated, driven & can deliver excellent customer service whilst adhering to your individual underwriting authority limits. You may only have previous experience as a broker but as long as you are willing to learn, the company is happy to train you on the underwriting side of things.

You must have at least 4 year’s commercial insurance experience, gained at either a broker or insurer.

Salary on offer is £28-36k, plus bonuses (around £5-7,000 per annum) with 25 days holiday to start.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
