Real Estate Underwriter

We are currently working with an ambitious MGA who have shown some impressive growth over the last few years, are part of a larger group and who are on an incredible business journey. They are keen to speak to those with strong Commercial Property Underwriting experience who would like to join them on this journey, working for them as a Property/Real Estate Underwriter based in their Basildon Underwriting office, which currently has 22 staff.

You will pro-actively manage renewals & new business quotes for a property/real estate book, underwriting residential and commercial property/real estate risks within guidelines via multi product and multi distribution channels including e-trade, sub coverholder and open market brokers. They are looking for underwriters who understand the need to trade with their brokers and provide a first-class service at all times.

They are looking for an experienced underwriter to evaluate the risk and exposures of customers for new business, mid-term adjustments and renewals from their network of UK and Ireland brokers. Quoting, converting, and retaining business to meet budget and underwriting performance targets for the range of specialist Commercial Property insurance products in their eTrade, facultative and sub binder distribution channels. Ideally you’ll have 3 years plus experience successfully underwriting a mixed property portfolio with exposure to both commercial and residential real estate/property owners risks.

You will also need to possess a friendly professional demeanour with the ability to excel in a trading underwriting environment.  

Benefits include Life insurance 3x salary, 25 days holiday plus bank hols, Discretionary annual performance bonus, Pension – they contribute 5% on the basis you contribute 2.5% and Private medical care (after 12 months service)

Salary on offer is £38-45,000 depending on experience. Working hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, with hybrid working and 2 days a week in the office. Please note there may be some movement in the salary for the right person.
