Membership Services Advisor
Member Services Consultant
South Cerney, Gloucestershire | £24,500–£25,500 DOE | Hybrid Working
Are you a confident, friendly communicator who enjoys helping people and delivering excellent customer service?
CKB Recruitment is delighted to be working with a rapidly expanding mutual society offering a genuinely warm, welcoming and supportive working environment. Due to continued growth, it is now looking for a Member Services Consultant to join its friendly eight-person Membership Services team.
Previous financial-services experience is not essential. The business is interested in hearing from people with customer-service experience gained within retail, hospitality, an office or another people-focused environment.
What matters most is your ability to communicate confidently with members by telephone and email, build rapport and provide a professional, helpful service.
The Opportunity
As a Member Services Consultant, you will act as a key point of contact for existing members, prospective members and Financial Advisers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Responding to general enquiries by telephone and email
- Providing clear and helpful information about the society’s products and services
- Tracking applications and keeping members and advisers updated
- Maintaining accurate personal and professional details within internal systems
- Providing administrative support to the Intermediary Sales Team
- Delivering an FCA-compliant, information-only service to prospective members
- Handling sensitive or potentially difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy
- Ensuring all records and correspondence are accurate and completed to a high standard
You will receive excellent training and ongoing development, making this an ideal opportunity for someone looking to establish a long-term career with a highly regarded local employer.
What We’re Looking For
You do not need to come from a financial-services background, but you should have some previous customer-service or people-facing experience.
You will ideally have:
- A friendly, confident and professional telephone manner
- The ability to build rapport with a wide range of people
- Strong written communication skills
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- The confidence to manage difficult or sensitive conversations
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- A positive, team-focused approach
- A minimum grade C/4 GCSE, or equivalent, in Maths and English
The existing team works hard but also enjoys having fun, so the business is looking for someone personable, approachable and keen to become part of its close-knit culture.
An Excellent Place to Work
The wider business employs approximately 80 people, so it is large enough to offer genuine career opportunities while remaining small enough for colleagues to know one another.
Staff turnover is exceptionally low, and vacancies like this rarely become available. The business places a strong emphasis on training, development and creating a stable, enjoyable working environment.
Its impressive, purpose-built offices are situated near the South Cerney lakes and include several comfortable lunch, breakout and relaxation areas. CKB Recruitment has visited the offices on several occasions and has always been impressed by both the working environment and the people.
Salary and Benefits
The salary is £24,500–£25,500, depending on experience, alongside an outstanding benefits package that includes:
- Annual bonus worth 10% of salary
- 10% non-contributory employer pension
- 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
- Two additional fully paid volunteering days each year
- Private healthcare
- Death-in-service cover worth four times your basic salary
- Free eye care
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Discounted membership investment opportunities
- Staff away days and social events
- Hybrid working
- Free onsite parking
Hours and Hybrid Working
The normal office hours are 8:45am–5:00pm, Monday to Friday.
Hybrid working is available, although you will need to attend the South Cerney office approximately two to three days per week.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing and highly regarded Gloucestershire employer offering first-class training, excellent benefits and a genuinely friendly working culture.
