Senior Residential Conveyancing Associate Solicitor
Residential Conveyancing Associate / Senior Associate
Cheltenham | £55,000 - £65,000
Your client relationships, professional reputation and ability to generate quality work can be just as important as the legal expertise you bring to the table.
An established law firm in Cheltenham is looking to recruit a Residential Conveyancing Associate or Senior Associate to join its team. This is an opportunity for a commercially minded property lawyer who wants to build on an existing client following, develop valuable professional connections and play an active role in growing a residential property practice.
You'll manage a varied caseload, strengthen existing relationships and have the flexibility of hybrid working, alongside a comprehensive benefits package. For someone who combines technical expertise with a strong commitment to client service and business development, this could be an attractive next step.
The Role
You'll take responsibility for residential property transactions from initial instruction through to completion, delivering a responsive, high-quality service while ensuring matters progress efficiently and clients remain informed throughout.
Alongside managing your own caseload, you'll play an important role in developing client relationships and generating new business, using your professional network and commercial instincts to create opportunities.
Your responsibilities will include:
Residential Property Transactions: Managing sales and purchases of freehold and leasehold properties, remortgages, shared ownership matters and lease extensions.
End-to-End Case Management: Taking ownership of transactions from instruction through to completion, managing deadlines, resolving issues and keeping matters on track.
Client Relationships: Providing clear, practical advice and maintaining strong relationships through excellent communication and consistent service.
Business Development: Generating new instructions through your existing client following, referral network and professional relationships.
Professional Networking: Developing connections with estate agents, introducers and other professionals to encourage repeat business and new referrals.
Technical Quality: Applying your conveyancing expertise and attention to detail to identify risks, resolve complications and progress transactions effectively.
Commercial Contribution: Supporting the growth of the residential property team through client retention, relationship development and new business generation.
Efficient Working Practices: Using case management systems and modern conveyancing technology to manage your caseload effectively and deliver a smooth client experience.
The Opportunity
For an established conveyancing lawyer, the value of a move isn't just about the next caseload. It's about finding a firm where your experience, relationships and commercial contribution can make a difference.
You'll have the opportunity to bring your expertise to an established Cheltenham practice, maintain the client relationships you've built and develop new sources of work while strengthening your professional network.
You'll have responsibility for your own transactions and client relationships, with scope to contribute to the continued success of the team through business development and the delivery of excellent service.
Hybrid working adds flexibility to the role, while the benefits package provides additional support for your wellbeing, financial security and time away from work.
What We're Looking For
We're keen to speak with residential conveyancing professionals who have the technical ability to manage their own caseload and the commercial awareness to develop a successful practice.
You'll ideally have:
Experience: At least five years' PQE in residential conveyancing.
Qualifications: Qualification as a Solicitor, CILEX lawyer or Licensed Conveyancer.
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of residential property transactions, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages and related matters.

Client Service: Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing clear, practical and commercially aware advice.
Business Development: An established client following, existing client base and/or professional referral network.
Commercial Drive: The confidence and appetite to generate new instructions, develop relationships and contribute to the growth of the practice.
Technology: Confidence using case management systems and modern conveyancing technology.
