Residential Conveyancer
Residential Conveyancer / Legal Executive
Boston | £45,000 - £55,000
Good conveyancing is about more than moving a transaction from start to finish. It's about keeping people informed, solving problems before they escalate and making what can be a stressful process feel straightforward.
An established regional law firm is looking to strengthen its Residential Conveyancing team in Boston with an experienced conveyancer who can take ownership of their own files and deliver a consistently high standard of client service.
Whether you're a qualified lawyer or an experienced non-qualified conveyancer, this is an opportunity to build on your technical experience within a supportive, well-established department. You'll handle a varied residential property caseload, develop strong relationships with clients and professional contacts, and benefit from streamlined systems and experienced colleagues who understand what it takes to keep transactions moving.
The Role
You'll oversee residential property transactions from initial instruction through to completion, balancing efficient case progression with careful risk management and clear communication at every stage.
The role offers a varied workload and the opportunity to take responsibility for your own files while contributing to the performance and reputation of the wider conveyancing team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Residential Property Transactions: Managing a varied caseload covering freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages and transfers of equity.
File Ownership: Taking responsibility for transactions from instruction through to completion, proactively managing deadlines and resolving issues as they arise.
Client Communication: Keeping clients informed throughout their transactions, explaining requirements clearly and providing practical advice when challenges arise.
Professional Relationships: Building effective working relationships with estate agents, lenders, clients and other third parties to facilitate smooth transactions.
Compliance & Risk Management: Ensuring files meet regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate records and identifying potential risks throughout the process.
Performance & Billing: Working towards departmental performance objectives, managing workloads effectively and meeting billing expectations.
Team Contribution: Collaborating with colleagues across the wider department, sharing knowledge and helping maintain consistent service standards.
Service Delivery: Identifying ways to improve efficiency while ensuring clients receive the attention and support they need.
The Opportunity
For an experienced conveyancer, the right working environment can make a significant difference to both your professional development and your day-to-day experience.
You'll join an established regional practice with a strong presence across the East Midlands, working alongside experienced conveyancers in a department recognised for its efficiency, professionalism and client-first approach.
The team benefits from established processes and streamlined systems designed to support effective case management. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of your work, strengthen your technical knowledge and build lasting professional relationships while contributing to a service that plays an important role in the local community.
Importantly, the firm welcomes both qualified and non-qualified conveyancers. If you have the practical experience to manage your own caseload confidently, this could be an opportunity to continue developing your career without qualification status being the sole deciding factor.
What We're Looking For
We're interested in conveyancers who are organised, proactive and confident managing residential property transactions with minimal supervision.
You'll ideally have:
Experience: At least two years' practical experience in residential conveyancing.
Qualifications: Applications welcomed from both qualified and non-qualified conveyancers.
Technical Knowledge: Experience handling freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages and transfers of equity.
Caseload Management: The ability to manage your own files, prioritise competing deadlines and progress transactions independently.
Client Care: A commitment to providing responsive, clear and professional communication throughout the transaction.
Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, estate agents, lenders and other professionals.
Attention to Detail: A careful approach to documentation, compliance and risk management.
Commercial Awareness: An understanding of performance expectations, billing objectives and the importance of efficient case progression.
Teamwork: A collaborative attitude and a willingness to contribute to the success of the wider department.
Above all, you'll take pride in your work, enjoy helping clients through important property transactions and understand the value of combining efficiency with excellent service.
Salary & Benefits
The salary is competitive and will reflect your experience. The benefits package includes:
Annual Leave: 33 days inclusive of bank and other public holidays, including birthday leave.
Life Assurance: Cover worth three times your annual salary.
