Commercial Conveyancing Solicitor
Commercial Property Solicitor
Newark | 45,000 - £65,000
Commercial property work is about understanding more than the transaction itself. It's about recognising your client's wider objectives, navigating complex legal considerations and finding practical solutions that allow businesses, landowners and investors to move forward.
An established law firm in Newark is looking to strengthen its busy commercial property department with an experienced Solicitor who can manage their own caseload and deliver a consistently high standard of legal work.
This is an opportunity for a commercially minded property lawyer who enjoys taking responsibility for transactions, building client relationships and working across a varied range of commercial matters. Experience in agricultural law would be particularly advantageous, offering the opportunity to bring additional expertise to an established department.
If you're looking for a full-time position where you can apply your technical knowledge, manage matters independently and contribute to a busy property practice, this could be an excellent next step.
The Role
You'll manage your own commercial property caseload, advising clients throughout transactions and ensuring matters are progressed efficiently, accurately and in accordance with the firm's quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
Commercial Property Transactions: Managing a varied caseload of commercial property matters, taking responsibility for transactions from initial instruction through to completion.
Sales & Purchases: Advising on commercial property acquisitions and disposals, identifying potential issues and helping clients achieve their objectives.
Commercial Leases: Handling landlord and tenant matters, including lease-related transactions and associated property issues.
Agricultural Property: Applying experience in agricultural law where relevant, advising on property matters involving agricultural land and related interests.
Client Advice: Providing clear, practical and commercially focused advice, ensuring clients understand their options, obligations and potential risks.
Case Management: Taking ownership of deadlines, documentation, negotiations and transaction progression while maintaining accurate files.
Quality & Compliance: Working in accordance with Lexcel and Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) standards, maintaining strong file management and risk management practices.
Relationship Building: Developing trusted relationships with clients and professional contacts through responsive communication and reliable service.
The Opportunity
For an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of your work within a busy department and contribute directly to the delivery of its legal services.
You'll have responsibility for managing your own matters, giving you the scope to apply your technical expertise, develop your client relationships and maintain a proactive approach to transaction management.
Agricultural law experience would be a valuable addition, particularly for a solicitor whose practice includes transactions involving agricultural land or rural property interests. However, the central requirement is a solid commercial property background and the confidence to manage a caseload independently.
The firm's emphasis on Lexcel and CQS standards also makes this an opportunity for a solicitor who values well-managed files, sound professional processes and consistently high standards of client care.
What We're Looking For
We're keen to speak with experienced Commercial Property Solicitors who can manage transactions independently and deliver practical, commercially aware advice.
You'll ideally have:
Experience: At least five years' post-qualification experience in commercial property law.
Qualifications: Qualification as a Solicitor in England and Wales.
Technical Expertise: Strong experience handling commercial property transactions and managing a varied caseload.
Agricultural Law: Experience in agricultural property or agricultural law would be advantageous.
Caseload Management: The confidence to take responsibility for matters from instruction through to completion.
Client Service: Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships.
Organisation: Strong drafting, attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
Quality Standards: An understanding of professional compliance, file management and the importance of working to established quality standards, including Lexcel and CQS.
Approach: A proactive, commercially minded attitude and a commitment to delivering high-quality legal work.
Salary & Benefits
The salary and benefits package has not been specified and will need to be confirmed with the firm.
The position is offered on a full-time basis, with remuneration expected to reflect the successful candidate's experience and suitability for the role.
