Commercial Litigation Consultant Solicitor
Consultant Litigation Solicitor
Flexible Working | Competitive Remuneration
Are you an experienced Litigation Solicitor looking for greater autonomy, flexibility and the opportunity to focus on the work you do best? This is an opportunity to join an established legal practice as a Consultant Solicitor, managing a varied caseload while benefiting from the support of an existing firm. Whether you're looking to continue practising on your own terms, reduce the demands of a traditional employed role or build on an established network of client relationships, this could be an excellent next step.
The Role
You will handle a varied range of civil litigation and dispute resolution matters, providing clear, commercially minded advice to individuals and businesses.
Your work may include:
Contractual and commercial disputes.
Property litigation and landlord and tenant matters.
Debt recovery and enforcement.
Contentious probate and inheritance disputes.
Employment disputes and Tribunal matters.
Professional negligence claims.
Preparing cases, gathering evidence, drafting statements and instructing counsel where appropriate.
Advising clients on prospects, costs, settlement options and litigation strategy.
Managing matters through negotiation, mediation and court proceedings where necessary.
You will take responsibility for your matters and client relationships, ensuring cases are progressed efficiently and clients receive clear, practical advice throughout.
The Opportunity
Consultancy offers an alternative to the traditional fee-earning model, giving experienced solicitors the opportunity to shape their working arrangements around their professional strengths, client relationships and personal priorities.
You'll be joining an established practice with an existing litigation offering and administrative support, allowing you to focus on delivering legal services while benefiting from the infrastructure of a wider firm.
For a solicitor with an established network, a loyal client following or the ability to generate new instructions, this could provide an attractive platform from which to continue developing your practice.
The role may also suit an experienced litigator looking to transition towards consultancy while maintaining professional independence and access to a recognised firm.
What We're Looking For
A qualified Solicitor with substantial experience in civil litigation and dispute resolution.
The ability to manage matters independently from initial instruction through to resolution.
Experience across relevant contentious areas, such as contractual disputes, property litigation, debt recovery or contentious probate.
Strong client management, negotiation and advocacy experience, where appropriate.
A commercial approach to litigation, including costs, risk assessment and settlement strategy.
Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing clear, practical advice.
The confidence to develop client relationships and generate work where appropriate.
A professional, self-motivated approach suited to a consultancy arrangement.
An existing client following or established referral network would be advantageous, particularly for candidates looking to develop their practice through consultancy.
Salary & Benefits
Consultant arrangement with remuneration to be agreed.
Greater autonomy over your caseload and working arrangements.
Access to an established legal practice and its supporting infrastructure.
The opportunity to develop existing client relationships and generate new instructions.
A flexible alternative to a traditional employed fee-earning role.
The precise consultancy structure, remuneration split, support arrangements and working expectations will be discussed confidentially.

If you're an experienced Litigation Solicitor considering consultancy, I'd welcome a confidential conversation to discuss the arrangement, your preferred working model and what you could bring to the practice.
